Earth and all the planets are inside of the Sun. The Heliosphere is the Sun's atmosphere and it protects us from cosmic radiation as we travel around the galaxy. As the sun travels, the heliosphere is dragged into a teardrop shape. Voyagers 1 and 2 are outside and are currently in interstellar space
