Image by @beverlyjoubert. Endangered wild dogs, otherwise known as painted wolves are exceptional and very effective hunters not generally known for scavenging. So we were surprised to find a pack feeding on a giraffe carcass in the Selinda Reserve in Botswana. We don't know how the giraffe died but had seen a leopard and hyaenas feeding previously. Perhaps it was just too good an opportunity to pass up. #wilddogs #paintedwolves #endangered #botswana #unusualsightings by natgeo
