Females are brown with white ear tufts and males are solid black. Endemic to #Madagascar, lemurs are among the world’s most #endangered mammals, with habitat loss due to agricultural development and logging being the two primary reasons for their decline. To date, Madagascar has lost more than 85% of its forests, the sole habitat of lemurs, but for more than a decade, the @stlzoo has been at the forefront of efforts to save these amazing animals, including field conservation and captive breeding programs. #PhotoArk #joelsartore #photooftheday by natgeo
